Reflex Integration for Adults

 RMTi Adult Sessions

Adults often come to RMTi having tried everything else and wishing they knew about RMTi earlier!

The challenges RMTi can assist with are endless: poor posture, tension, stress, headaches, anxiety, feeling stuck, fearfulness, tics, sensory overwhelm...the list goes on!

For some adults, it is a task of addressing primitive reflexes that were never integrated during childhood. For other adults, it may be re-integrating primitive reflexes that have reactivated as a result of physical or emotional trauma or stress or neurological conditions such as Parkinsons disease and Dementia.

Exploring RMTi provides an experience of using movement to reestablish the neurological foundations of the brain, and ensure the higher levels of the brain are in control - without the interruption of brain stem reflexes. RMTi can shift entrenched patterns and enable the body to learn a new way of doing, a new way of feeling and a new way of thinking.

Live life with a new feeling of ease, control and calm.

Client History

Before the session we will ask you to complete a client information sheet as thoroughly as you are able.

This details birth history, infant and child development and challenges that you would like to explore and address in the session.

Reflex Screening

At the session we will observe you in different positions and doing different actions to identify any relevant reflexes that are still active in your body. We'll discuss your challenges you have identified from a reflex perspective.

RMTi Program

Experience and explore the profound rhythmic movements. Leave equipped with new awareness of your body, new perspective on your challenges and understanding the role retained reflexes are having. We'll give you movements and activities to continue as home support until your next session.

At Head Over Hills our method of reflex integration is underpinned by techniques and principles of Rhythmic Movement Training International (RMTi).

Rhythmic Movement Training is...

Not gymnastics!

The movements in RMTi are rhythmical, very small and designed to replicate an infant's spontaneous movement patterns.

Client led, gentle and fun

RMTi practice is based on the principle of less is more and working with the person, not on the person. The client is active in guiding and directing the process and movement.

Time efficient

RMTi requires home support of a movement program during the weeks between your sessions however, this usually amounts to no more than 2-3 minutes 4 times per week to begin with. Often clients begin with a home support program of just a few seconds of movement.

Effective

RMTi is a an effective tool when guided by a registered RMTi consultant. RMTi movements are carefully selected on an individual basis for each client after assessment. Despite their very subtle nature, the movements are extremely powerful and stimulating and care must be taken not to overwhelm the nervous system.

For all abilities

The RMTi movements can be modified and adapted for all abilities. For many people with neurological conditions, RMTi becomes a lifelong addition to their routine.

Brings noticeable results early on

It is common for people to report seeing and feeling a shift after 2-4 weeks of commencing a RMTi program however RMTi is not a quick fix. It requires an extensive period of time to build permanence in the change experienced in the complex reflex system.

For all ages!

RMTi is suitable for all ages from infancy to elderly.
It is never too late to integrate!
